OGo 1.1.6 (alpha) available
OGo 1.1.6 is the sixth official trunk snapshot (alpha) of the upcoming
OGo 1.2.
This release fixes plenty of bugs and enhances the XML-RPC server with a few
methods. Attendee status changes and add-me/remove-me operations now work
properly when one of the attendees is read-protected for the login. The
appointment formletter feature supports even more keys. Dial URLs are
properly escaped. Finally the FreeBSD port receives a few improvements.
Please check the
changes file
for a detailed listing.
Remember that 1.1.6 is an API unstable alpha release. OGo 1.1 is under
active development.
Please use OGo 1.0 releases if you need a higher level of stability.

OGo 1.0beta.2 available
The second public beta of OGo got branched and packaged in Subversion.
It is considered API and feature stable and will soon lead to the 1.0 final
release.
Development in trunk continues to move on with OGo 1.1. The versioning
reflects that of Linux or Gnome with even version numbers representing stable
versions and odd numbers marking development releases.
Note that the 1.0b.2 release changes install locations and binary names as
per soname guidelines. So in case you upgrade von 1.0a you might need to
adjust some configurations.

GroupDAV Sync4J Bounty
Bipolar
just announced a Sync4J / GroupDAV bounty:
"I'm offering 100$ to anyone who can write a
Sync4J
connector for the
GroupDAV
specification.
I think this is something that all open source groupware servers need.
There is a huge gap in functionality when it comes to syncing. Since
Sync4J has the ability to sync with
just about everything, a connector for Sync4J
will fill this gap. The connector will have to work with any server that
properly follows the spec. I put the bounty on
OpenSourceExperts.com."
Go for it! Helge
already stepped up and is adding another $100 if the bounty
is successfully completed.

Agenor 0.8 / Scalable OGo
The sources of Agenor 0.8 got released after a 21 day hack-o-ton
in July. Agenor is the codename of a current customer project lead by
Skyrix
partner
Linagora
which has the goal to produce a massively scalable variant of the
OpenGroupware.org server.
The software dubbed
SOGo
(Scalable OpenGroupware.org)
is in development since Summer 2004.
Note that the Agenor branch is non-trivial to install and not yet intended
for public consumption. Stay tuned for a shrink wrapped version of
SOGo.
